Recording pill can't be moved anymore – please add an option to hide it while recording

After a recent update, I can no longer drag the recording controls pill (timer, manual zoom, mic level, pause, restart, delete) while recording. It stays fixed at the bottom center of the screen.

Why this is a problem

I use three monitors and record only one of them. The pill appears on the display being recorded and covers the area where I need to click. I can’t move my app to another monitor, because it would stop being recorded.

What I’d like

1. Restore the ability to drag the pill while recording (if this change wasn’t intentional, it may be a bug).
2. Add an option to hide the pill completely during recording, so I can click anywhere on the screen. Keyboard shortcuts for pause, resume and stop would cover the controls.

Even if dragging comes back, being able to not see the pill while recording would be very useful.

The pill doesn’t show up in the final video, so this only affects the screen while I’m recording.
